Automotive Students Win DMACC Skills Contest

Central Campus Automotive Students Win DMACC Skills Contest!

Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) recently hosted the hands-on portion of the 21st annual Automotive Skills Contest.

Schools from around the state started the contest in October with a written test. Those scores were then used and combined with the scores from the hands on portion of the contest that took place in December. Students answered questions and completed tasks in all eight ASE automotive areas for both the written and hands on portions of the contest.

Two students from Central Campus Brandon Cramblit and Jonah Bassett won the contest.

The winning team received tools and equipment donated by the Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education, IADA Services, Inc. and several tool dealers and manufactures from around the state.

The DMACC Foundation also providing scholarships for each member of the winning team.
