Des Moines FFA Announces NAtional FFA Week

Students of the Des Moines FFA Chapter visited Des Moines’ City Council Meeting to visit with Mayor T. M. Franklin Cownie. Cownie signed a proclamation announcing National FFA Week from February 16 through the 23. The proclamation explains the importance of agricultural leaders and the need to build strong communities. Central Campus students have been busy preparing for National FFA Week. They invited state FFA leaders to visit the program on Tuesday and to present about trust, communication, and commitment. On Wednesday the chapter FFA officers are making a brunch for students that show case the value of Iowa agriculture. Thursday students will be show casing their FFA pride by wearing national blue and corn gold to school. FFA members are also competing at FFA North Sub-Districts Speaking at Colfax Mingo High School. Friday is a fun day for students to play games, eat food, and watch a movie at the Ag Lab. Service is the theme for Saturday and student will take that to heart as the serve dinner at the Central Iowa Shelter. It is a very busy week for the students but they are excited for the new opportunities the agricultural science program offers.
