Teen Poets Share Truth at Des Moines Slam

Six student spoken word artists will go on to represent Des Moines at the Brave New Voices International Festival. Broadcast & Film student Helena Gruensteidl’s “Save the Earth” video earned her recognition as one of the top 10 in ALAUM Environment 2016 Biodiesel Video contest – https://youtu.be/79gsZh80R3I. Today launches their “Most Views” contest. Share the video to as many people as possible to spread radon awareness. All views this next week (until Friday May 13th at 9:00 am) will be counted toward the contest. Culinary Arts Students Win Multiple Awards

Students at Central Campus in pursuit of culinary excellence under the direction of Chef John Andres scored some big victories at the SkillsUSA State Championships. Three students will be going on to represent DMPS and Iowa, competing at the national level at the SkillsUSA National Leadership Conference in Louisville, KY in June.
