Tascha Brown
Tascha Brown is the Director of Career and Technical Education and Principal of Central Campus with Des Moines Public Schools since 2018. She earned her B.S. in English Education at Northwest Missouri State University (2003) and a MA in Educational Leadership at Drake University(2015). She spent nine years as a classroom teacher including reading/writing interventionist, at risk programming teacher, and teacher leader. She was a school improvement leader at Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa for four years serving the math, language arts, and English language learner departments before transitioning to CTE and Central Campus. Tascha Brown has been award the Iowa Alternative Educator of the Year (IAEA) in 2011 and Outstanding Administrator of the Year (IAAE) in 2021. She is a graduate of Des Moines Public Schools, and a mother of three. She is passionate about ensuring youth have access to their post secondary pathway prior to graduation and believes equity in education is only achieved when all students have access to a family sustainable wage, access to healthcare and benefits, and upward mobility after high school.
