What will I do in courses at Central Campus?

The class involves several different dissections, and field trips to both the Des Moines University (Medical School) and Grand View University cadaver labs for hands-on experiences. All of the body systems are covered in more detail than what the non-Central classes are able to do.

What are the course requirements for enrollment?

1. Grade: 11th -12th 2. Prerequisites: Biology and Chemistry

What careers will this program prepare me for?

Any career in medicine, medical research, nursing, veterinary medicine or any other biological science field would receive a good foundation form this course

What type of credit can I earn?

High school credits toward graduation and DMACC college credit.

Are field trips and study tours available?

Field trips to the Blank Park Zoo, Science Center for an open heart surgery simulcast, the morgue to interact with preserved diseased and healthy organs and both the Des Moines University (Medical School) and Grandview cadaver labs for hands-on experiences: Also experts from each area studied interact with the students throughout the year.

What student organizations/competitions are available through this program?

Must complete with an A or B either Central Campus College Genetics & Microbiology course or Central Campus College Anatomy & Physiology course in order to be considered for Spring Semester admission into the Neuroanatomy course at DMU
