Education
After graduating from Lincoln High School and completing the Automotive Program at Central Campus, I received my Associate of Applied Science Degree from Des Moines Area Community College and became a graduate of the first Ford Automotive Student Services Educational Training (ASSET) Program offered in the state of Iowa. I am currently a Ford Master Certified and Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Certified Technician.
Career Experience
When I was 12 years old I started working at a Standard gas station down the street from my house completing odd jobs. After graduating high school, I began my technician career at Dewey Ford repairing just about anything. I spent 15 years doing Drivability, Engine and Driveline, Electrical, Suspension / Steering and Brake repairs.
Teaching Experience
My teaching career began while I was a technician at Dewey Ford. Two years after graduating from the ASSET Program, I began mentoring college students participating in internships. After several years, I began mentoring Automotive Youth Education System (AYES) high school students from Central Campus. In 2001, I became the Engine Repair and Engine Performance instructor and in 2008, I became the Director of the Automotive Program.
