Hoover High School graduate, Michael Turner, was selected as a TOP 5 nominee in the 60 Second Original Promo category for his entry entitled “Hip Hop Hour.” His promo was screened in Chicago by a panel of judges and he was awarded with a $1000 scholarship to North Central College. Central Academy is once again ranked as the top Advanced Placement program in Iowa, according to the Iowa AP Index issued by the University of Iowa’s Belin-Blank Center. More than 200 Central Campus students were honored for their work this year at a rally in the auditorium. The students were recognized for accomplishments in their field of study, completing the full academic program and for outstanding and consistent achievement. Congratulations to everyone!

Two Central Academy students – Elena Hildebrandt and Jack Wahlig – have qualified for the National History Day competition, to be held next month in College Park, MD. More than 2,000 people turned out for the 2014 Central Campus Fashion Show, making it one of the most popular events on campus.
