Of the four students who will represent Iowa at the National Council on Youth Leadership conference in St. Louis next month, two are from Des Moines Public Schools as well as from Central Campus and Central Academy!
Tascha Brown, currently School Improvement Leader at Roosevelt High School, will be the next director of Central Campus. Try to imagine a household of eight ranging from infant to age 20. How would they manage? Impossible, right? Unless there was a heap of willingness to work hard coupled with a strong network of support.
Getting a good education and doing good deeds converged yesterday in the Career Opportunities in Health program at Central Campus. Students in the programs worked with LifeServe to coordinate a blood drive at the school. A steady stream of donors took part in the drive. Nice job by the health students at Central!
