CULINARY ARTS STUDENTS WIN AT FCCLA NATIONAL CONFERENCE

image1Congratulations to all of our students participating in the FCCLA National Leadership Conference this week in Washington DC!  In the awards  ceremony this morning, our Culinary and Entrepreneurship teams won silver medals, and our Chapter Service Project team won a gold!

Culinary Arts: Lindsey Abuhl, North (graduated) /  Molly Reisman, Lincoln (senior) /  Shelby Sonderleiter, North (senior)

Entrepreneurship: Jesse Brookshire, East (graduated) / Daniel Carpenter, Lincoln (graduated)

Chapter Service Project: Alexis Morris, East (graduated) /  Heidi Seher, East (senior)

We have had a great week in Washington DC participating in the conference, seeing the sights, and learning about our nation’s capital.  We even spent the 4th of July on the lawn of the Capitol Building enjoying the “Capitol Fourth” concert and fireworks on the National Mall which were broadcast on national television.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization for young men and women in Family and Consumer Sciences education in public and private school through grade 12. Everyone is part of a family, and FCCLA is the only national Career and Technical Student Organization with the family as its central focus. Since 1945, FCCLA members have been making a difference in their families, careers, and communities by addressing important personal, work, and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences education.
