Central Campus Aviation Student to Fly Solo This Summer

Hawa WarsameCome Here. Become – A PILOT – Here!

Central Campus aviation student Hawa Warsame earned acceptance into the Aim High Flight Academy, hosted by the U.S. Air Force over the summer. The goal of the 3-week all-expenses-paid camp is for students to complete their first solo flight! Hawa is one of only 80 students to receive this scholarship from over 2000 applicants. To be accepted, Hawa attained an FAA 3rd class medical certificate and will receive her FAA Student Pilot Certificate at the academy.

“Students are eligible to solo at age 16, so it’s not uncommon for pilot to solo before they get their driver’s license,” said instructor Keith Boot.
